ABOUT US
OUR STORY
Citizen Church UK began in 2020, when, at the invitation of the then Bishop of Llandaff, a team of around forty people from Harbour Church Portsmouth (within the HTB network) relocated to Cardiff during the global pandemic. The Church began through live-streams, recorded on Tuesday nights, before we had even met in person on a Sunday. It was one of the first HTB-network plants in Wales.
Citizen Church is a parish within the Diocese of Llandaff, and is part of the Church in Wales. We're also part of the HTB network and serve our region of South Wales as an Alpha Hub Church.
Our congregation grew exponentially to span three locations:
in the heart of Cardiff’s student quarter
launched 2020
in a former mining village in the Aber Valley
launched 2022
at the gateway to the South Wales valleys
launched 2023

OUR VISION
From the start, our vision has been joining in with what God is doing as we play our part in:
the EVANGELISATION OF THE NATION,
the REVITALISATION OF THE CHURCH,
and the TRANSFORMATION OF SOCIETY.
We are Anglican, holding to Anglican sacraments and tradition within the Church in Wales, and we are unashamedly charismatic: contemporary worship, expectant prayer, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, with a culture where it is normal to invite your friends to church to encounter God.
