THE INTERNSHIP

The Internship is a year to be moulded and shaped, to grow in your leadership, explore your calling and your relationship with Jesus.
Throughout the year you will get theological and practical training, be part of staff meetings, retreats and get hands on ministry training in different areas of Citizen Church.
We have full time and part time programs available with limited spots. Applications for September 2024 start open in the Spring.
We offer three pathways here at Citizen: full time residential, full time non-residential, and part time. The year also includes an annual staff retreat, the HTB Leadership Conference, and Focus. Mondays are set aside for training and studying together. These include weekly intern breakfast sessions which is a great opportunity to grow together and build great friendships within the team. Mondays also include weekly theology training sessions with members of our leadership team, monthly sessions with HTB college, as well as sessions with guest speakers.
The rest of the week is dedicated to the department you belong to. Our departments currently include: Students, Creative, Worship and Production, Kids, Youth, Alpha, Justice and G’s & P’s (young adults). You will receive barista training and have the opportunity to serve a shift on our coffee van every week to help you engage with the community and the social justice work within the Church. The year starts in August at our annual staff retreat, and finishes after Focus in July. Throughout the year you will be provided with pastoral support and be assigned to a line manager who will work alongside you for the year.

This will involve serving at our Sunday services, attending Tuesday’s where you will have a day of input with the rest of the staff team, serving on the coffee van for one shift a week and spending the rest of the week in your department. This will involve serving at our Sunday services, attending Tuesday’s where you will have a day of input with the rest of the staff team, serving on the coffee van for one shift a week and spending the rest of the week in your department. You will have to find our own accommodation, but, you will be provided with pastoral support, be assigned to a line manager, and receive a small subsistence grant to cover your expenses for the year.
